Family of four ... Geelong Photographer

The seasons are changing before our eyes and with it are the tones of autumn, not just in the leaves but in the sky. That lovely haze and stillness that seems to whisper in the cooler months ahead and the sting of the summer sun is replaced by a softer season. The day of this session was just like that as we ventured down to the beach..it was perfect. 

I am in love with the carefree nature of the girls in these images..still journeying life though the filters that only children have and hope that they represent  a true reflection of that age for the family. Here is a sneak peek of a lovely family..enjoy.

 

A beautiful time..the waiting..

I was so pleased when I was told I could show these images..there is a quietness and peace about this session that hung in the air. It was not only the beautiful light that reflected all around us like a filtered haze, but there is a settledness that radiate from this lovely lady..calm, acceptance and beauty..interesting what one can learn from others and I had been blessed with a day of woman who had made my heart warm..this was for me the perfect ending to a beautiful day. Family bond..Geelong Photographer.

Anticipation is always there when I meet my clients..will everyone be relaxed, will the kids be timid, loud, happy...? I never know how the session is going to roll...I used to worry now I kind just roll with it. After all I can only do so much right..there are so many factors at play  that I may not even be aware of. 

Some days though are golden..this is one of those days. My family straight up just played and  DID family..and it was real..of course I moved around and we set up loose posing,but the connection is real..there is no staging there..genuine..fun...connected..perfect.

Thank Nelson Family..you made me smile on the day and you make me smile when I see your faces even now..enjoy your beautiful bond.

Jackie + Grant..Barwon Heads Engagement Session.

Beautiful nights with summer haze..ahhh not hard to live around this area really. I had the pleasure of meeting up with a couple not too far from tying the knot and it the perfect night and we were able to wonder the beach with barely anyone around. I am sure that Jackie and Grant will be looking forward to there special day..I hope in all the busyness they get a moment to breathe and enjoy the process... and more importantly their life ahead. Look forward to the big day guys.

Perspectives. Geelong Newborn and pregnancy photographer.

One of the benefits of this line of work is the interactions I am exposed too. Every couple has a story and a way that they love and respond to each other. It is a deep connection and I sometimes get to capture this and frame it. I have always loved to 'people watch' and this is an extension of my interest, but with the ability to pass on my perspective, my way of seeing life, love and laughter. 

This is a prime example. Aimee and Paul. They contacted me  for pregnancy images and then just this last week I got the photograph their new love...and what a sweety she is. Welcome Poppy, you are in for a wonderful life.

Hills hoist fun..an aussie childs right. Geelong photographer

I have a shockingly bad memory..really. My sister has so many memories of our childhood that are stored away somewhere and as she re tells I have my memories ignited. 

This night it wasn't my sisters words but the sound of my girls giggling that brought me back to a very plain backyard and one very useful implement that as an adult serves a practical purpose. But for a child its a free ride and a squeal of delight..and the risk of getting caught by Dad.

In that moment I felt like I was a child..who knows maybe you will hear a squeal of delight from me today as I go have a spin..don't fancy explaining the strange angle of the Hills Hoist to hubby though..

Part two.. Cupcakes and cousins..Geelong Family photographer

So as promised part two is here and it fun, as the extended family filtered through the back door to join in on the session I was struck by the closeness of this unit. There is a lot of laughter fun and hugging, from the little ones and it wasn't long before the cupcakes arrived..mmmm yum.

A sunday session..Part One

There was a lot of excitement and fun at this photo session, there usually is when you have three little ones in their own environment..it wasn't long before I was being shown around the yard by a very eager to be photographed seven year old. The whole family were very welcoming and we were able to capture great memories and family portraits..even with the help of a few lemons from the lemon tree to add to the mix..what ever we need to get the shots :)

I will call this part one because as you will see next blog post..

I have to say that some days are just not hard work, I mean what could be better on a sunny spring day than going coastal and photographing lovely people on a lovely day!
